ECO Schools Green Flag Award

Fair Hill Primary School and Nursery Unit is proud to fly their Eco Schools Green Flag in the car park for all to see. ECO Schools is part of Keep Britain Tidy and Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful. The Green Flag has to be renewed every two years. This is our eighth Green Flag and the whole school community is involved. There are ten topics to cover Biodiversity, Energy, Global Citizenship, Healthy Living, Litter, Marine, School Grounds, Transport, Waste and Water. The ECO Committee work hard throughout the year to draw up an Action Plan, monitor the effectiveness of  ECO Schools topic actions, by collecting data and monitoring and evaluating progress, culminating in a visit by the Green Flag Assessors.

For the third time we have been chosen as an Ambassador school to encourage others who are working towards their first Green Flag. We have attended ECO events, set up displays and spoken of our work to others. If you feel you can help us in any way please contact us for a chat.
