After a long season the final competition took place today in Donard Park, Newcastle.
In Group 1 the second team narrowly failed to qualify, losing only one match against Kilkeel in their final game in the group. Super effort!
In Group 2 the first team qualified easily without losing a game and played Annalong in the semi final which they won 1 - 0.
In the final they played Kilkeel. After going one up through a great goal and playing some super football, Kilkeel unfortunately scored with the last kick of the game to make it 1 - 1.
The match went to penalties which Kilkeel won.
Throughout the whole season the boys have come so close on so many occasions and deserved to finish the season with a win today. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.
A big thank you to all the parents who have helped this year and a big thank you to all the boys - your new schools are going to get some super footballers next year.
