Figurative Language Cafe
P6/7 have been refreshing their memories and learning all about different types of figurative language, such as similes, metaphors, personification and hyperbole.
They created their own cafes and restaurants over the past week, creating names, logos, backstories and most importantly coming up with their food choices! When describing their food they had to ensure they were using a range of figurative language to make their menu stand out.
Today we displayed all of their fabulously created menus full of delicious food, described using their best similes, metaphors and personification. Everyone had a paper plate in which they went round reading everyone’s menu and ‘ordered’ their favourite thing from the menu. To order the food the children had to write down the description of the food onto their paper plate and write alongside it which form of figurative language it was that was used.
Afterwards we completed a review on our favourite menu.
Well done P6/7, your use of figurative language over the past week has been outstanding!
