Amazing Africa!
P6/7 are adventuring into the topic of Africa. Over the past few weeks we have been looking into a range of countries within Africa, the importance & impact Nelson Mandela had and lots more! We are really enjoying our class novel ‘Journey to Jo’burg’ which is giving us an insight to what Africa was like many years ago.
Today we also had George Oluwagbemiga, minister to the children in assembly. You can imagine our excitement when George came into school in his African attire! After chatting to George and telling him about our topic he came into our classroom to look at our artifacts on display. George loves to play the African Drums and couldn’t resist when he saw one out on display. He had a quick sing song with our class, which the children loved.
George has agreed to come back in and play some more music and talk of his African adventures to our class in the coming weeks, we look forward to it!
